This is the official application of the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica for validating vaccination certificates with QR codes in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican vaccination certificate follows the technological model of the European Union, which can be stored digitally on a mobile device. Citizens can also request a paper version. Both will have a QR code containing essential information, along with a digital signature to ensure the authenticity of the certificate. This application reads the QR code and performs an offline verification to confirm that the QR contains the necessary data and has been signed by the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. If successful, it validates that the vaccination data contained meets the criteria for a complete vaccination scheme according to the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica, criteria published on the official website https://www.ministeriodesalud.go.cr.

The application only requires access to the camera in order to read the Health certificate (QR code) in Costa Rica; data is neither processed, stored, nor shared.

The internet permission is solely used for users to access the terms and conditions and privacy policies within the application; however, the application can function without an internet connection.
